Priskin Move Confirmed By Club

Town have confirmed that Tamas Priskin has completed his move to Portman Road after Watford accepted a bid for the 22-year-old striker. As reported last night around the internet Priskin has signed a three-year-deal with Town and will travel with the Town squad to Coventry for Town's first Championship game.

Tamas: "That's my main aim, to help Ipswich get promoted.

"I know the manager here wants to get the club in the Premier League and when I knew that the two clubs had agreed a fee, it was an easy decision to make.

"Ipswich are a big club and have a good chance to get promoted and I'm here to help them achieve that.

"It's a big step for me, coming to Ipswich. I spoke to my team-mate for Hungary, Marton Fulop, who was at Sunderland when Roy Keane was manager there and he said it would be a good move for me. I'm looking forward to it."

As a season ticket holder of Watford FC and life member of Middlesex CCC it was massive disappointment to - at a time when Middlesex were one wicket away from beating Kent - check the Watford website to hear Priskin had left. However, the Hornets are short of cash and what with Priskin being in the last year of his contract I have to agree it was a sensible time to sell him.

Doesn't matter, at least Middlesex got that last wicket (after an 86-run 10th wicket resistance) and won their first County Championship match of the season, while I am hopeful Norwich City legend Malky Mackay will sign another striker before the end of the transfer window, like he has promised.
