Town goalkeeper Shane Supple could be reunited with former Town boss Joe Royle if a loan move to League One side Oldham Athletic goes through. The former Town boss took charge at Boundary Park on Sunday and has already set his sights on a number of players to help boost Oldham's play-off hopes.
Town manager Jim Magilton confirmed the approach saying: "Oldham have made contact and are keen to take Shane on loan and hopefully something will be sorted out over the next 48 hours.
"It is important for Shane to be out playing football matches."
Oldham boss Royle also confirmed his approach saying: "I have always had faith in Shane. He is a terrific young keeper and I had no hesitation in putting in a call to Ipswich for him. He has been unfortunate not to have played more games but now he is behind Richard Wright who is a fabulous keeper.
"We will give him an opportunity to play first team football and hopefully he will enjoy himself."
