Town captain Gareth McAuley says he aims to be fit for Town's game against Coventry City on Saturday.
McAuley suffered various injuries during the 2-1 defeat against Cardiff on Saturday but he is confident he will be fit for the trip to the Ricoh on Saturday.
McAuley: "I'm confident I will be okay for the weekend.
"I was patched up by the medical team at half-time with a lot of strapping and we were going to see how it went for the first five or 10 minutes but it was okay in the second-half.
"My shin is still sore and I haven't trained but it's improving and I'm pretty sure I will be fine for the Coventry match."
I hope he makes it. The lad's come in for stick on here but I've seen him on the box and was at the game against Cardiff and I think he'll settle in to our team well. Just a little low with his confidence is all and that's understandable as some "fans" seem to be tryin' to make him into another Matty Richards for some reason.
He was 5hite for the first 3 months, but seems to have settled in now and has been one of our best performers in recent weeks so good on him. I still don't feel he's captain material though.
Coz we have a large pool of suitable centre backs to take up the holes left by Bruce & McAuley don't we - NOT !!!
It's not as if Magic didn't have any money to spend early in the season.
fans reckon jason de vos was a donkey from start to finish but by god he did better as a skipper and defender, the results and performances by de vos were better, sorry mcauley is'nt a patch on de vos and never will be, his last team went down when he was playing for them, enough said
De Vos could not pass a ball straight. Sorry duck, while he did some valiant defending for us, De Vos was average that looked good in a pretty poor defence. McAuley will be better if given a chance by us the fans!
