Report: Town 2-2 Swansea

Town's indifferent season continued today, with the boys in blue being lucky to get a draw against Swansea, despite creating chances. Town were just a whisker away from taking the lead inside the first minute when Jon Stead poked the ball round the far post with Swans' ‘keeper Dorus De Vries looking like a spectator.
Moritz Volz had a similar effort tipped round the post by De Vries for a corner, which was cleared after Town gave away a free-kick in the box. Jon Stead was booked for not retreating 10-yards when the kick was taken.
At the other end, a misunderstanding between Richards' Naylor and Wright allowed Gorka Pintado a shot at an unguarded goal, which he managed to place wide.
Town had another good chance to take the lead in the 9th minute when Gareth McAuley headed a Alan Quinn corner towards Pablo Counago who didn't seem ready for the ball and could only head over the bar.
The game then entered a quiet period with not slot happening for nearly 20 minutes the Town defence was pulled apart by some well timed Swansea passes and movement. David Wright looked to have stopped the danger with a well time tackle, but he failed to retain control of the ball allowing the visitors another chance to attack, with the ball eventually falling to Jordi Gomez 10-yards from goal with only Richard Wright to beat, thankfully the former England ‘keeper was up to the task and denied Gomez with his knees.
Town took the lead in the 43rd minute, when Pablo Counago controlled a long ball from Ivan Campo with his chest before taking the ball off-centre from goal and firing into the roof of the net, beating De Vries at his near post.
Town couldn't keep their advantage for long into the second half, Swansea broke leaving the Town defence in a mess eventually allowing Ferrie Bodde to shot, his effort took a slight deflection off Richard Naylor but it had already beaten Wright.
Campo and Stead made way for Miller and Garvan on the hour mark, with the removal of Stead being greeted by boos from large sections of the home support.
The visitors took the lead on 69 minutes, Town failed to fully prevent a Swansea attack, one half cleared effort fell to Jordi Gomez who beat Wright as his near post from the edge of the area.
Town drew level again in the 81st minute, an Owen Garvan corner was only cleared to the feet of Miller who found Counago in the box, the Spaniard stopping and turning before placing the ball in the net with the Swansea defence appealing for offside.
Richard Wright spilled a 30-yard effort from Marcos Painter into the path of Jason Scotland but Wright was able to recover the ball before any damage was done.
Owen Garvan, Kevin Lisbie and David Norris all went close for Town in the final stages but Town were forced to settle for the draw.
