Burnley midfielder Alan Mahon is the latest player to be linked with a move to Portman Road after falling out of favour at Turfmoor. The 30-year-old Irish midfielder has only made three substitute appearances for the Clarets so far this season and with just under a year on his contract Burnley could be willing to accept a token fee.
Mahon spent three months on-loan at Town in 2003 from Blackburn Rovers, making 9 appearances, Town wanted to make the move permanent but Rovers' wanted £750,000 which was well outside of Town's budget. In 2004 he joined Wigan where he spent just over 2 years before joining Burnley for £100,000 in 2006.
