Walters Ill

Town striker Jon Walters missed Town's 7-0 win against Cliftonville last night because he has been ill and for no other reason. When it become known that Walters had missed the game rumours of his impending exit from Portman Road started to resurface but Town manager Jim Magilton says that's not true.

Jim: "He's got the lurgy. He has been banished to his room since we became aware of it.

"It's got nothing to do with the food. The food has been excellent.

"He will have a bit of game time on Thursday and Saturday - we will see how he is."

Goals from Gary Roberts, Alan Lee and Danny Haynes gave Town a 3-0 lead going into half time last night. Two goals for Alan Quinn and one each from Jaime Peters and David Wright gave Town the win the win against Cliftonville.

i dont think walters will leave because he loves ipswich and the fans love him hes an excellent payer and i think he will be fit soon and will not leave because he wants to get us up there and u can see that by the way he plays 'theres only one jon walters'
