Town chief executive Derek Bowden has confirmed that Town have been talking with Greek striker Angelos Charisteas about the possibility of a move to Town. The 28-year-old striker currently plays for Nuremburg, who after being relegated from the Bundesliga last season play in the Bundesliga 2 (equivalent of The Championship) and because of relegation they need to off-load some high earners and Charisteas is among, although Town have not agreed a fee with Nuremburg they have been allowed to speak to the player as Mr Bowden confirmed.
Bowden: "Yes we have spoken to Nuremberg about Angelos Charisteas. We have not agreed a fee but we are close enough for the club to give us permission to speak to the player.
"We are in discussions with his representatives and I am sure there will some more dialogue over the next few days."
