McAuley Joins

Gareth McAuley has become Town's second new signing of the summer after signing a three year contract earlier today. The 28-year-old has joined Town for a reported £1.1 million but the official line is an undisclosed fee which Town and Leicester agreed over the weekend and McAuley is delighted with the move.
McAuley: "I was excited about the move when Ipswich came in for me in January but Leicester wouldn't let me go.
"The situation obviously changed as the season progressed though, with Leicester going down, and although I had other options, coming to Ipswich was very much my first choice.
"I have played here a few times and there has always been a great atmosphere in the ground. It's a top club and listening to the manager, it's clear he wants Ipswich in the Premier League.
"That's where I want to be. As a player, it's the pinnacle to be playing in the Premier League and this Club has the potential and drive to be at that level.
"That's where I want to be and I came here to help Ipswich Town reach the Premier League."
Town manager Jim Magilton added: "He is another piece in the jigsaw.
"I have been a long time admirer of his. He's a threat going forward from set-pieces as we know to our cost when he scored twice against us a few years back.
"He is a big presence in the penalty area at both end of the pitch and we are delighted to have him at this Football Club."
McAuley joined Leicester in the summer of 2006 from Lincoln City and has since made more then 80 appearances scoring 9 goals.
