Town Chairman David Sheepshanks has revealed that Town are likely to complete the permanent signing of Alan Quinn from Sheffield United this week. The 28-year-old joined Town on an emergency loan from The Blades on Friday night and could have played against Blackpool yesterday, although Town manager Jim Magilton thought it would be too soon for him.

Town Chairman David Sheepshanks confirmed that town had agreed a fee with Sheffield United, saying: "We have agreed a fee with Sheffield United to make Alan's move here a permanent one, we are now in discussion with Alan regarding personal terms and hope to finalise those details and complete his medical in the next couple of days."

Quinn's arrival at Portman Road does not end Town's interest in Plymouth's David Norris, with Town manager Jim Magilton adding: "David Norris is still very much in my thoughts. We have made our offer which we feel is very good."
