McAuley Bid Rejected

Town manager Jim Magilton has confirmed Town have had a bid for Leicester City defender Gareth McAuley. The 28-year-old is one of the reasons Leicester have let in less goals then any of the sides currently in the top six of the Championship.

Jim: "We have had a bid rejected by Leicester for Gareth McAuley, I have seen him play a few times for Northern Ireland at right-back and he was excellent in the middle at our place last year.

"We felt it was a very good bid and will now think about our next move over the weekend.

"It's case of staying patient. It's almost like buying a house with a chain of events having to take place before clubs are letting players go but we have other options as well."
