Town manager Jim Magilton has revealed the reason behind Cesar Navas not coming to Town was his girlfriend not wanting to relocate from Spain to Ipswich. Town had agreed a price with Malaga for the player and talks between Town and Navas had taken place, only for Mavas to reject the move, apparently because of his girlfriend.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "We weren't too far away from crossing the 't's and dotting the 'i's but his girlfriend was not keen. I don't know if it was the shops or what."
