Reserves Remain In Pontin’s League

Town's reserve side will again be playing in the Pontin's Holidays Combination league next season. Town were forced into the league after Premiership sides decided the FA Premiership Reserve League would be open to clubs who played in the Premiership, leaving clubs like Southampton, Ipswich and Norwich looking for a new place to play.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "It is not ideal, but there is nothing we can do about it, hopefully things can be sorted so they are playing the reserve sides of Premiership teams in 2008/09.

"With respect to sides in the Combination, it is not easy for our lads to raise their game, some have shown a dip in form and the league does not provide too many benefits."
