PMM: Town 2-1 Derby

Reaction from Town manager Jim Magilton following Town’s 2-1 win against Derby County at Portman Road this afternoon.

Jim: “I'm so proud of my players after that performance, we dominated the play and deserved the three points.

 

“It was a terrific display from everyone. We started the game at a high tempo and carried that on all the way through the 90 minutes, even though it was very warm out there.

 

“The fans also played their part. It was a terrific atmosphere, one of the best this season and we need that sort of backing to drive us on. The players appreciate that support.”

 

Jim saved special praise for Francis Jeffers, adding: “He showed Premiership class all the way through and deserved his goal.

 

“He was dangerous every time he got the ball and must have had five or six shots at goal. I wasn't sure it was going to be his day but he came up with an important goal for us.”
