Reaction from Town manager Jim Magilton following Town’s 5-2 win against Hull City earlier tonight.

Jim: “Franny showed Premiership quality and I thought he was outstanding for us, in recent games we have dominated possession and created chances but have lacked that cutting edge. He provided that.

 

“He was a constant threat to their defence and showed the quality we are looking for, not just in the way he took his goal but in his all round play.

 

“Injuries have meant he has not played as many times as he would have liked at Blackburn this season and they have terrific competition for places in attack there so we were delighted when Mark Hughes agreed to let him join us.

 

“There were good performances all through the side as well. Alan Lee put in another great shift for us, Danny Hayes came on and scored a terrific goal and his pace caused them problems.

 

“I wasn't particularly happy with our first-half display, even though we were in front at the break but to come away and score five goals is a fantastic achievement and I'm delighted for the players.

 

“They have worked really hard lately to turn things around and tonight they have transferred the football I have seen on the training ground into a performance and we now have to build on that and look forward to Saturday and Southend.”
