Town midfielder Darren Currie will be flying out to LA tomorrow morning for a two week trial with LA Galaxy.

No its not April 1st (I’ve checked), the team that signed David Beckham will now be having a look at Darren Currie over a two week trial.

Darren Currie is flying out to the United States on Wednesday for a two week trial with David Beckham's LA Galaxy.

The 32-year-old has been out of favour at Portman Road this season and he was expected to join Coventry after a loan period there but that move went south when Mickey Adams was sacked.

Town manager Jim Magilton: “Darren has not played as much football as he would have liked this season and is out of contract here in the summer.

“He's been a model professional in his time at Ipswich and when the request was made for him to go out there, we couldn't stand in his way.

“It's an exciting opportunity for him and he will go out to LA for two weeks and see how he gets on and we'll take it from there.”
