Town striker Danny Haynes was delighted to make his international debut for the England U19 team last night.

Danny: “It was a great thrill to play for my country, it was wicked and I really enjoyed it.

“I went on at half-time and couldn't wait to get going and I was really pleased with the way it went.

“The football was a bit slower than I expected but I settled into the game well and the manager said he was pleased with what I did.

“I knew some of the lads but it was my first experience of playing for my country so there were a few nerves but it couldn't have gone any better.

“I was really disappointed to have missed out after getting named in the squad a few months back but then having to pull out with injury but this makes up for it.

“It's given me a real lift, a real boost to my confidence.”
