Town manager Jim Magilton feels Town were short of a cutting edge against Stoke earlier today.

Jim: “We started the game well and had plenty of possession over the 90 minutes but we were poor up front, we didn't create many clear cut chances and lacked a real cutting edge. There was a reluctance to shoot on some occasions as well

 

“The first goal was always going to be crucial because of the way they set themselves up. They got people behind the ball and got the break and it was very disappointing in the end.

 

“We have to pick ourselves up for Coventry now on Tuesday and start again.

 

“Gavin Williams gave us a good shift for 90 minutes but we have to be careful with him as he's still carrying a niggle.

 

“Gary Roberts is nursing a sore groin and we have to keep an eye on Owen Garvan, with so many games in a short time after he's been out for so long.

 

“Billy Clarke is fit now though and he will come into consideration.”
