Mandaric Wanted Town?

Former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric reportedly wanted to buy Town before switching his attention to Leicester.

The Russian who sold his stake in Portsmouth Alexandre Gaydamak has been looking for a new club since leaving Fratton Park and it has been reported that he did want to buy Town but negotiations between him and Town failed so he went to buy Leicester instead.

The main reason for the deal not going ahead is likely to be the fact no one can buy more then 15% of Town with out a shareholders vote, something Mandaric may not have been keen on.

Before owning Portsmouth he owned a string of clubs both in the United States and Europe, these included St. Louis Storm, F.C. Lika, San Jose Earthquakes, Standard Liège, OGC Nice.
