Town midfielder Gavin Williams is in a race to be fit for Town’s game against Sunderland on Saturday with a hip injury.

Gavin has been suffering with groin and hip injuries over the past couple of weeks and was forced off at half time against Birmingham with the injury before having a scan yesterday, he is currently a doubt for the Sunderland game.

Town’s head of sports science Dave Williams: “Gavin has been able to play games but he's not trained fully at times and it's a case of managing his recovery at the moment, he's got a bit of muscle inflammation and it was sore during the Birmingham game but that was his third match in a week.

“With rest and no midweek game this week, we're hoping it will settle down and he'll be okay for the Sunderland match.”
