The Silence Is Deafening

There has been little said in the Evening Courier. The Yorkshire Post seems to have forgotten about us. And the official website is more bothered about prices for next season rather than whether we have a future or not.

The Irish consortium it now seems had ulterior motives. They are a property development company who it seems are more interested in the Shay stadium rather than the progress of either the football or rugby club that share the ground. Depending on what was in it for Halifax Town, this would seem a bad move and I don't think the supporters would warm too much to a take over of some sort from this party. Especially if the rumours that Jim Brown is involved are correct.

The Halifax Town Supporters' Trust main aim is to safeguard the future of the club. But after the poor showing at the charity match you have to ask in what way can they help? The trust have worked hard, but do they have any real financial clout behind them?

Current Directors Adie Hall and David Cairns are trying to round up ex-investors in the club such as John Stockwell and Chris Holland. Their hope is also to create a consortium that might save the club. But obviously time is running out.

To us supporters, it does seem that with the clock ticking away there is little being done. The potential investors and saviours of the club now have to lay their cards on the table with a firm offer before it is too late.
