Nottingham v Blues

Blues finally got their season started with a convincing win against Pirates. Nottingham have also won 1 and lost 3, but going to play them on a Friday night is never an easy task.

Blues, played how we are used to seeing them with plenty of offloads, some a little lucky with how they went to hand. The pack also did well against the Pirates maul and scrum. We need to back this up with a win against Nottingham.

I imagine the squad will be very similar to Pirate, I thought Wright added a lot of impact off the bench with his energy in attack and defence and it would be good to have him back for this week.

I agree. Wright was excellent. Came on and stepped straight up to a line out. Never made mistake in the rest of the game either. He slotted in very well. I was worried about our bench. I was wrong!

Suspect Alex Woodford out with injury. Would like to see Silveste return. Why is he only available every other week (it appears)? He was there on Saturday and looked okay moving around. Evans will also be available I suspect.

Looking forward to it.

This could turn into another 'banana skin' game, I have travelled to Nottingham on several occasions and never returned happy.....

The fact that we are above them in the league is meaningless.....however I saw a changed side in the highlights of the Pirates game, this could prove a worthwhile away game for the travelling Blues fans.

Wright is on a different level to our other hookers. The question is whether he’ll be available to us as he’s often in the Saints squad. Not sure if he was returning from injury last week or something?

Woolford got injured last week so I don’t anticipate him being available. I think it will either be a straight swap for Bennett or, and I think more likely, Benson moving into the 2nd row with Tui Uru coming into the back row.

Ulqoq had a good impact off the bench and I would start him over Finch. Eckersley was also warming up last week so I think must be close to a return so could possibly start or will at least be on the bench.

Louis James had his best game of the season last week but I’d still be tempted to start Worth at full back this week away from home on a Friday night. There is also talk that Saints want to give Todaro a game for us on his return from long term injury. He’s obviously an incredible player but not sure how you leave out Deano or Kershaw.

Strong team. Wright starts. Bennett in for Woolford. I would’ve started Ulqoq or Eckersley over Finch.
