The bookies have us as favourites at 4/6 and Pirates at 11/8 with the draw put up at 17/1

On the handicap betting its Bedford (-3) at 10/11 and Pirates (+3) 10/11 and the draw at (-3) 22/1

Don't see anyone risking their wages at those odds, no mistakes by the layers Doncaster, Jersey and Bristol being warm favourites.......best investment this weekend......a pint in the St Peters........I wonder how many Pirates fans will be able to find it?

Try Blues, agree with you although pirates don't have the biggest pack to contend with.
Good to see Perkins back. May actually have a number 14 who can catch the ball!!

I meant we have 1 back 5 forward on the bench. We weren't that impressive at the breakdown against Yorkshire. 1 injury and then we're either going to have Tupai playing for 80 or potentially having to bring a prop Lunberg on at flank like against Yorkshire.

What we're really good at is scoring off turnover ball but you need the back row to be able to be doing it and then to secure it playing a multi phase attack. A few times players were isolated against Yorkshire stopping our plays.

Probably wasting my time here but on a side note the sooner the anti trolling laws come in the better! You may have mitigating mental circumstances and I will apologise if so! However to call me a person I really do not know; I find disrespectful to both him (I'm sure he would not want his name mentioned incorrectly) and me! It's really time you stopped being pathetic and grow up! You are embarrassing yourself and bring shame to the club! If a potential new fan made a cursory look on this website what on earth would they think?

Is TB not one of "the boys" ? He makes negative comments and it is insight - I make negative comments and it is disrespectful- such is life when you are not one of the boys

Hope Clare has been practicing his throwing in and Phil B his kicking ahead. Clare must think that all his Christmases have come at once - not a great hooker by any means not in my top 4 for this club and he gets a move to the Premiership- wow

There's nothing wrong with a negative rugby related comment; it's all the other rubbish on here that have driven others away and is really boring due to the constant drivel!

Clare very much fits the profile of a Saints hooker. He's a scrummaging hooker, whereas we'd usually have a more modern ball carrying one. He has improved with us and he is still very young for a front rower so under a full time environment with Hartley there he has the potential to develop his game further.

I do not think we'll miss Clare as James has looked good and hopefully without an injury next year he'll kick on. Fields from the description sounds more of someone who contribute more in open play.

TB, I think James has been a really good addition to the squad this season, so am really pleased that he's signed again for next season.

Does your comment above count as drivel ? - anyway: great game - you score one we score 2 - did not know who would win righ up until the end - some of our passing was wonderfully poor butchered 3 or 4 great chances to score. Tackling was also poor at times? Is Jones fit? Best full back we have by far now JP has gone!hope he is ok he was my man of the match.

I was actually disappointed with the start as 2 weeks in a row we've started off well but have gifted a 12 (yesterday) and 10 (last week) lead.

In fact I don't think Pirates really had to do too much for their 4 tries in the 1st half.

Then we started the 2nd half with a kick out on the full, allowed them to jog back up to take a quick throw and score.

Clare the last 2 weeks throwing whether short or long has been an issue and our restarts were not very clinical to invite pressure on ourselves. Thought James should've come on earlier.

Tupai look shattered after 60 mins and I'm unsure why we make him struggle on for the full 80.

On the attack side we were very good with some good moves and when the play has broken a bit there's no better side at scoring in the division.

Jones was very good under the high ball and his kicking was great. It looked like it was more lack of match fitness than anything else.

Wells made a difference at the breakdown when he came on for Howard and personally I would start him whilst we're a bit short in the back row area.

Sharp's kicking at goal was great.

Scrum was solid and we defended the rolling maul well, stopping it and turning it over a couple of times.

We then switched off for the last 5 mins when the game was won as Pirates scored a couple of good tries.

5 points, means we need a maximum of 3 points and Jersey have a couple of tricky matches also.

Good to have a 2 week break to work on a couple of things and hopefully have Conlon & Fenton Wells back for a big game against Knights.

My only problem with Doncaster is they are a forward driving team, and we haven't played well this season against similar teams.

I'd like to see NFW back as he'd make a difference.

A fine afternoon, a win and five points in the bag - no complaints. Entertaining 'Barbarians' style rugby from both sides. Any complaints? Well yes, actually.
If Bedford, like Pirates, had nothing left to play for this season then everything that we witnessed yesterday would have been great end-of-season entertainment. But Bedford have a top four place to cement, with all the financial rewards that will bring, and yet our game was littered with errors, turnovers, missed tackles and a carefree abandon that, at times, was reckless, bordering on unprofessional.
No one disputes our attacking potential but, surely before next season starts, we must address our defensive frailties.
But, for the time being, we remain in fourth position and have our destiny very much in our own hands. #COYB
