Coming back from the Mennaye Field with a brace of bonus points is a mild comfort but the manner of the 32-31 defeat still leaves a massive feeling of disappointment ...

Games between these two sides should always be televised. Once again there was a points fest, and going deep into time we were ahead 31-25 and looking good for another win in this excellent season.

Unfortunately, Pirates had their own ideas and desperate attacking at the death saw Aaron Carpenter go over from close quarters with Laurence May not in a mood to miss the winning conversion.

Cruel it definitely was.

Our try bonus point came courtesy of Messrs Tapley, Griffiths, Conlon and Le Bourgeois - all converted by Myles Dorrian .
