There isn't a better way top have started the season. Beating title favourites Bristol on their own pitch and gaining a try bonus point is the stuff of dreams ..
George Perkins grabs the headlines with two tries but this was a team effort against Gavin Henson's boys which plainly shocked the home support. The other tries in the 29-23 win came from the outstanding Jake Sharp and Dean Adamson.
Sharp began proceedings with a drop goal and then his clever kick sent Perkikns racing into space and he kicked on before touching down.
Another chip kick from Staff led to our second try. This time he collected himself with Staff sending Perkins in again.
Sharp continued to be the threat and Blues fans were ecstatic when he scored himself just befoe the break. He intercvepted and evaded Tom Varndell in the run to the line.
Blues led 22-6 at the break and knew Bristol would come back.
But it was Blues who scored again to secure the bonus point - Adamson seizing on a dropped ball to race home.
Bristol picked up when Henson came on and scored through Cliff and Mosses. The Blues then had to hang on when Henson struck a long range penalty to bring his side within a converted try of sneaking the game, but we mamnage4dr to see time out without too many problems.
To early to get carried away but what a start!
