Amidst all the comings and goings the re-signing of James Pritchard could once again prove to be the most important.

The 35 year old is a stabilising factor in everything the Blues do and his talent, experience and loyalty have been our bedrock for some time now.

Of course, he has just had a great testimonial season with the Blues and  will be back after  playing for Canada in the World Cup.

He told the official site: “Anyone who knows me, knows that there is only one club that I want to play for and I am delighted to have my future secured for next season. I have grown not only to like Bedford Blues, but to love every single aspect of this fantastic club that I have had the pleasure of representing for ten years of my professional career.

“As well as having the huge honour of captaining the club I've also been lucky enough to be involved with some fantastic moments at Goldington Road over the years and I intend to do all that I can to ensure that there are plenty more to come next season.”

Now make him captain when he returns from his World Cup exploits

He is a born leader and great ambassador for the club. Just read the comments on the club website

Captain Fantastic for me - appoint him after the World Cup won't be a problem if you have a stand in captain up to that point - any way we are about to make another potential captain signing in the very near future so I hear.
