Those Pesky Pirates - Again

Get down to Goldington Road on Friday night for a veritable try-fest. We've met the Cornish Pirates three times already this season with an average of over 70 points a game!
In the B & I cup we won 41-40 at home but lost 65-14 away. Then, in the league encounter down in Penzance, we lost by an embarassing 65-14 so there's certainly something to prove in the return fixture.
A win would leapfrog us above the Cornishmen who are just two points ahead of us with 34 points.
The reality, of course, is that after a New Year's revival we've slumped and, as a result, are in ninth placer in the league. Sixth place is a realistic prospect with five games to go but we need to start winning again.

You're right, Alan. There was no coincidence at all.
We did, in fact, WIN the away B&I Cup match by 34pts to 28.

I think if one wishes to posts such stats then they should at least get them right......
Looks like almost the same side that did so badly at Leeds. We only really threatened once Baldwin and Sharpe came on. I see their both on the bench again and he sticks with Kerr at 10 who had an absolute mare.
Can't understand with only 5 games to go why Prich is being rested, unless he's injured.

Good news for the Pirates Bedfords leading kicker Canadian International James Pritchard is not playing.He normally gets bags of points when he plays against the Pirates.

Iron Blue - it's funny how some of the supporters see the game differently to the coach.... With regards the 'main man' Pritch, I seem to recall we had a similar situation last season after the Leeds game....... Perhaps he's been speaking his mind and giving the coaches his own thoughts on some of the recent games and is now on the naughty step (just a thought). If he's fit he should be playing, none of us have any idea who's fit and who isn't. NFW needs to step up and be more vocal on the field in my opinion if he is to continue as captain.
Maybe on the other hand - our expert coaches are making insightful decisions with regards to team selection as they are paid to do.

In Team News, wing Craig Holland is set to make his 50th in a side that also welcomes back hooker Rob Elloway from his loan spell at London Welsh.
Laurence May is selected at fly-half, with Kieran Hallett taking a place on the bench, whilst Laurie McGlone moves from No. 8 to partner Darren Barry in the second-row.

Team selection is a dark art, Alan.
You make wholesale changes to teams who are successful and virtually none to a side that played a dire match against Yorkshire Carnegie.
It should be on the curriculum at Hogwarts.
blueherts - precisely. We have a coach that still doesn't know his 1st XV........... and I'm not going to apologise if that's deemed negative. Pritch is a true professional and one of the best kickers in the league, so if he's fit why isn't he playing?
