From a Warriors supporters perspective this look like one of the stronger teams Dean Ryan has selected this season.

The backs include Ryan Lamb and Ryan Mills together for the first time which is a combination I have certainly been looking forward to seeing. The two wingers Sam Smith (ex Harlequins) and Tom Biggs (ex Bath) have both proven their quality in the premiership. The only player who is definitely a first choice player (IMHO) and missing from the backs is Chris Pennell, but his replacement Ben Howard has done well so far in the championship. This back line could produce some very exciting running rugby.

The back row are all experienced ex premiership players. Matt Cox (ex Gloucester and previously Worcester), Mat Gilbert (ex Bath) and GJ van Velze (ex Saints).

The front five are less experienced. 2 players have some premiership experience, the hooker Dan George (ex Gloucester) and lock Mike Williams who played for Wuss in the premiership last season (at lock and 6). It is generally a very mobile front five all of whom seem willing and able to fit in with a running, passing game. They may be missing a little bulk if you have a heavy, strong front five.

Although the difficult selection problems were probably who to leave out; of the nine Warriors players with international experience only one (Mieres) is in the 22.

I don't think this match will be anywhere near as intense, exciting and close as the last one between our two teams and I'm afraid I'd be surprised if Bedford came away with any points.

So would I Hunky, even on the scoreboard. We are down to "the bare bones" but still loaned a player to Leicester !! You couldn't make it up.

Well with Pritch on Canada duty, I'm not sure where the leadership is in the back line, but I'm guessing Sharp. Exciting centre partnership with some speedy 3qtrs. We always play our better rugby against the top teams, so I'm hoping for a decent performance and who knows. Last time we played Wus they cheated and the cameras don't lie, so watch out for all the professional fouls and try to keep our pen count down too, please.....

On the ball as usual Jonathan. It looks a very strange team but who knows they might surprise us all as I always say believe in yourself and things will happen.

So lads remember what I have been taught, look forward, look back, look sideways look up and remember you never know what might be around the corner.

I will try and tune in on the radio Friday night, though I am supposed to be "on duty"

When are we going to see any of the DR boys? If not now, when our squad is struggling with injuries, country call-ups and former club recalls (what is that all about?), then what is the point? We make enough noise about this 'special relationship' with Saracens but over the last couple of years have seen precious little in terms of players turning out for us.

So any comments on Fridays game? Leeds seem to be struggling like us. Should make for an interesting game this week.

We are indeed struggling this season. Really missing the halves from last who were streets ahead of what we have now. No creativity at all behind the pack. We won quite a few matches last season with less than parity up front but we dont have the guile and adventure in key positions anymore. Can see this being a really dour dogfight. It's quite staggering how far we have regressed. Fully expect you to beat us but I live in hope.

Well with rain on the way and no covered terrace I'm not sure it's worth the effort to watch a 'dour dogfight'.
