The lads have been getting put through the mill in Belfast and Mike Rayer says they're lean and mean and looking to put last season's non-event behind them.
However, most of the team which will take some part in the friendly against Old Alabnians this Friday night weren't here last time around. We have 20 new faces - many from Sarries, of course - and they will create the most interest for Blues supporters this week.
Kikc off is at 7.45 and it's a fiver to get in.

Great to see two old boys in Andy Holloway and Jon Phillips back at Goldington Road.
None of the new boys impressed me particularly.
A few did OK but nothing to improve upon last year.
Joe VDM was my man of the match.
The Sarries match will give a better indication of where we are, but I suspect scrapping it out in bottom 4 or 5.
The bigger picture may be next season when some of the youngsters have beefed up an bit and got some experience under their belts.

My main concern is the "staleness" in the coaching department. It's ok getting rid of players and signing others, but the same old drills and regimes are easily countered with the availability of cameras these days. Standing at the warm up with a ball under the arm does not inspire me, never mind the players.
The backs need new ideas, and if we do use Sarries youngsters, lets hope someone will guide them and our own in the dark art of breaking the line.
For the time being, accurate passing would be a good start.
