Credit to Jersey who fully deserved the 41-31 win which kept them in the Championship and which meant we finished in our lowest position in Mike Rayer's reign ..

It wasn't supposed to be that way. The tent was up and the beer was ordered for us to give loyal servants Sacha Harding and Brendan Burke the send off they deserved on their retirements.

What we got was the Islanders fighting for their lives and capitalizing on our mistakes.

It was all level with twenty minuites to play, but Jersey regained rhe lesad with a slightly controversial penalty try when their driving maul was judged to have been dragged down.

A late penalty took them clear and they were the ones celebrating with Ealing relegated.
