Jewell Hoping to Extend Higginbotham Stay

Town boss Paul Jewell says he is looking to extend defender Danny Higginbotham's loan spell beyond it's expiry date of the middle of next week

The 33 year old initally signed on loan from Premier League side Stoke City on a one month deal and has clearly impressed the Town coaching staff enough leading to the desire to retain his services.

Speaking to the Official Club Website, Town boss Paul Jewell commented: “We are hopeful that we will be able to keep Danny.  He’s come here to play football and he’s doing that. He’s enjoying it here and I’ve told him we want him to stay. 

"We’re in conversation with Stoke and we will see how things work out but we are certainly hopeful that he will be remaining with us, ideally for the maximum three months.”
