Magpies Hammered by Chelsea

Jose Mourinho’s high-flying Chelsea managed to put four past Newcastle in their 4-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
John Terry thought he had gave Newcastle the worse start possible after 14 minutes when he headed in but his goal was disallowed for offside.
This inspired Newcastle who kept hitting at Chelsea, having a Laurent Robert free-kick superbly saved by Peter Cech.
Cech saved Chelsea again by smothering the ball from Craig Bellamy's feet after a fine pass for Kieron Dyer.
Newcastle’s defensive comedians were in action again, when a mix up between Johnson and Bramble gave Gudjohnsen a glorious chance to give the Londoners the lead but luckily for Newcastle he couldn’t finish.
Mourinho, clearly unhappy with Gudjohnsen replaced him at the break with Drogba, who scored Marseille’s 2 goals in their agonising 2-0 victory over Newcastle in the UEFA Cup semi-final last year.
Newcastle, having the better of the first half, started the better of the second half with Cech needing to save another Laurent Robert free-kick.
Mourinho then made what can only be described as inspired substitutions as he brought on Wayne Bridge and Mateja Kezman for Tiago and William Gallas.
It was just 2 minutes later when disaster struck for Newcastle when Drogba headed Claude Makalele's pass into Lampard's path for the England midfield to slot it home.
The floodgates then opened as Bramble, off-balance, was pushed aside by Drogba who knocked home Chelsea’s second.
With Chelsea in complete domination, Robben went on a solo effort and as expected, he finished well to make it 3-0 to Chelsea with 2 minutes remaining.
And when Toon fans thought it could not get any worse, it did, as Shay Given brought Duff down in the box, Kezman stepped up for the penalty and knocked in his first Premiership goal and the 4th for Chelsea.
There was one positive for Newcastle – It was an improvement on last years 5-0 defeat to Chelsea.
