Mathieu Debuchy has dropped a massive hint, that he may very well not start the season with Newcastle.

With PSG said to be keen to sign the Frenchman, Debuchy told the evening Chronicle:

“It’s really incredible to play in that atmosphere.

“Having said that, I miss European football and the Champions League in particular.

“For the moment, I’m concentrating on the World Cup. We’ll see about the rest afterwards.”

So, he’s enjoying himself?

Obviously not enough, I suppose until we show some ambition and attempt at least to move towards the top of the league, or at least have a cup run, the exodus of anyone half decent will continue.

Hopefully the overworked Graham Carr can keep coming up trumps, because we look likely to continue to lose any player who fancies playing at a club that is more than an advertising front.
