It’s the end of the world, as we know it!

Waiting for a cuddle.

Now I will happily admit that my biblical prophecies may be a little rusty, but I am reasonably sure, Newcastle making a signing is one of the harbingers of the apocalypse.

Never the less a mere 18 months since the last one, where we have flirted with spending as little as possible, for as long as possible. Employed a DOF (I have recently learned this actually stand for drunken off-kilter flipping ramblings), sacked a DOF.

Employed another one, loaned a couple of people, one of which was actually a footballer and got rid of our only world class player.

We have made a signing.

Now it’s already being stated that he is one for the future, and how many of those have we had?

So I shan’t begin dancing in the streets just as yet, but it is nice to think Ashley has been formally introduced to his wallet, he may even find it again you never know.

So here is my extensive research, or to put it another way Wikipedia.

Welcome Ayoze Pérez

...and I feel fine

Because with Cisse our only recognised "First team" striker, I think any striker available is going to get an opportunity. He's held a starting role in the first team of a side who have

Personally; I'm a sucker for the cheaper, obscure deals. Having said that; I feel I ought to offer some additional information / research too.

In Football Manager 2014*, his key attributes are considered to be Dribbling, Determination, Flair and Agility.
It also reckons his best position is Central Attacking midfield, but he's good out wide and up front too. Key weakness is Teamwork, but technically he's quite competent
In fact this sounds like someone else at the club...

He had a minimum fee release clause in his contract of £1.7m; so presumably that's how much we paid.

* take with as much salt as a Pot Noodle

I'm optimistic. At a glance, he seems like the type of player we want (and need!) at the club. He's not a big name, which to me is a positive.

Whilst I will give any player who signs for us a chance to prove their worth , a Spanish second division player and a rumoured ginger mackem hardly set my hopes alight especially as the void they will currently have to fill untill any more signings are made is huge and almost impossible (cabaye/remy)
What makes me laugh is that Ashley thinks this is as far as he has to push the boat out to get the sheep back onside and sadly he will probably be right
The club recentley announced that season ticket renewal had been extended by 2 weeks with the original cut off on the 31/5/14 get this "due to forms still being recieved"
Despite the fact the club claimed that people not renewing stood at 6% in line with previous seasons
So either way the club has been caught with its pants down again, they either lied just weeks ago about the ticket renewal percentage or they are now about the reason for the extension and it is actually because renewal so far has been pisz poor and there hoping to catch any that blink in the standoff
Personally I think they lied on both accounts and the sooner our fans wake up to these court proven liars and stand together the sooner we can start to repair the damage these morons have inflicted upon this club

It's difficult isn't it?

I mean I welcomed the signing, then instantly thought, who?

Still give the lad a chance, but I really hope this is simply a start and not a finish of transfers, becuase it hardly fills me with hope.

And make no mistake our form last season once Cabaye left was relegation fodder.
