Rumour Has It: Pardew Has Been Sacked...

Social media site Twitter is on fire tonight with reports escalating over the last hour that Alan Pardew has been sacked by Newcastle United after the club held talks for most of the day. The rumours are unconfirmed with reports suggesting that an official announcement is due tomorrow.
Pardew signed a massive 8 year contract in September last year but the termination of his managerial contract at the club would not cost Mike Ashley as much as the headline would suggest. Instead Ashley would be expected to pay Pardew one year of his salary after a one year get out clause or pre agreed settlement fee was inserted into the contract.
Pardew who today became the 2nd longest serving manager in the Premier League, behind Arsene Wenger, has been at the club for two and a half years and has previously made no secret of the fact that his Newcastle career could be on the line after a relegation battle and 16th place finish in the League.
However, just three days ago Pardew was quote by Sky Sports saying that there was no uncertainty about his position at the club. He said;
“There's no uncertainty about my position. I expect to be manager 100 per cent. It was a good lunch.
Mike just comes and generally has a chat, says hello to everyone and he thanked all the players for their efforts.
We all know it has not been our greatest season but you cannot say we've not given 100 per cent.
We have and therefore have a better scenario next year and we all have to pull together. That was basically his message.
Like all clubs, we will be sitting down again, discussing plans for next year."
So if the rumours are proved to be true would you want to see replace him? Gus Poyet or Roberto Di Matteo seem to be top contenders but Tony Pulis, Roberto Mancini and Rafa Benitez are all also free agents.

If he is sacked Wenger will have racked up more managerial time at one club than all other 19 managers combined!
Don't want him gone personally.

Hopefully we do replace Pardew with someone that has more tactical knowledge, brings in a good coaching staff and plays the players in correct positions and to their strengths.
If not then Pardew will have to do a fair bit of improving over the Summer as he looks out of ideas. Defending 1-0 leads instead of goin for 2nd, playing players out of position, sitting too deep with everyone behind the ball and isolating one striker. Also plan b is always throw on Shola and replace a creative player with Perch. Also not playing Anita and Marveaux enough when fit even when they are in good form.
Suppose time will tell!
think i remember colo getting slated on here in his first yr

i would give pardew another season at least
he has made some tactical errors but feel he is a good man manager and seems to keep egos in check
we had a bad run which shouldnt have happened, i dont like the injuries and europe excuse, we still shouldnt have performed that bad
but looking at the league this yr half the teams were in contention for relegation
the available alternatives to pards i cant see making a difference.
I know ppl crying out for rafa but cant see him working for newc.
not making instant improvements anyways, i know hes got a respectable CV but the clubs he's worked at have had decent resources to give him

Vocabulary's not your strong point then?
Hopefully he will not be scared to play 3 up front, instead of 1 lonely striker. In the first season he played Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa up front, and it really gave us some options when we attacked..
Think the thought of relegation scared him, so he played to safe.
I regular read this forum and the evening chronicle news with comments on NUFC and by god the muppets who comment on the chronicle website really do my head - no wonder we become the laughing stock of football sometimes.
is a West Ham supporter and he did the same with them.
I am not fickle just realistic. We will have more of the same next season but that's the same for the majority of supporters in the Premiership bar the top 6/7 teams.
Last year was a one off with the squad and style of football we play we are destined for mid table at best.if people are happy with that then stick with Pardew if not then let's invest and move on.
