Newcastle United travel to the blue side of Manchester tomorrow as they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. They travel on the back of three wins, two defeats and a draw from their last six games in all competitions. The most recent result was a defeat to Wigan before the International break. City host on the back of four wins and two defeats in their last six, their most recent result also being a defeat, theirs against Everton.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is facing yet another injury crisis, after news that midfielder Chiek Tiote (hamstring) could miss a number of games, whilst Mathieu Debuchy (hamstring) and defender Davide Santon (thigh) are both also sidelined.

They join Fabricio Coloccini (back), Tim Krul (ankle), Massadio Haidara (knee) and Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring) who continue to be unavailable.

Long term injuries still affect Ryan Taylor (knee) and Haris Vuckic (knee).

Roberto Mancini is without Micah Richards (knee) and Jack Rodwell (hamstring), whilst Vincent Kompany may not play a full 90 minutes after returning from a calf injury only to feature in Belgium’s International game in midweek.

Sergio Aguero (knee) is expected to return.

City are pushing to secure a 2^nd play finish after Mancini conceded the title to Manchester United, who are 15 points clear of their rivals, whilst Chelsea are closing the gap on City for 2^nd place.

3 points and results in their favour separate Newcastle from breaking into the top half of the table, however their current position of 13^th is 6 points clear of a relegation battle.

Pardew is still struggling to strike a balance between getting a midweek result in the Europa League and following it up in the Premier League just 3 days later. Tomorrow’s game comes after the International break, so those who are fit should all be re-energised and seeking a win.

Fact: Newcastle Utd have the 2^nd worst away record in the Premier League (1 win & 8 points from 15 games).

Fact: None of Newcastle’s last 18 goals have come from a Englishman (9 Frenchman, 7 Senegalese, 1 Argentine and 1 Italian). Own goals which have benefitted the club have cone from a Northern Irish and Dutch player).

Fact: Manchester City have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season.

Yet again the player gets past Obertan so he gives up and stops on the edge of the box, Anita has given away 2 free kicks and made 1 pass and thats it he's another who lets the player go past him and then strolls back towards the box like Obertan, i'd take the 2 of them off and bring on Perch and Marveaux!

I agree, bring on Marveau and Perch. But to be fair most of the team are playing as if they are already beaten.
Where's the Newcastle attack.

I'd also take off Gouffran and play Shola up top wth Cisse. Because at the moment he has no support.

Gouffran got the ball man city doubled up on him, Anita gets the ball and no opposing player goes to close him down and yet it is Gouffran who goes off!

why bring on an inexperienced player to go up against Yaya, the game is lost we should be thinking about the goal difference and bring on shola who can hold the ball up in the oppositions half

Not great but I thought we would lose just not quite so easily. Does nothing for confidence. The next four games will make or break our season.its going to be all hands to the pump all these games will be a tough ask.

Let's hope for two league wins at least otherwise it will be too close for comfort.i guess this is NUFC having said that so nothing is ever easy.

Heads up and lets all have positive thoughts.

All I have to say is why play obertan ! It's not even funny anymore he isn't even championship quality . Which is still a very real threat
