The Walking Wounded - Tim Krul on Crutches

Newcastle United are the walking wounded as they prepare for the return flight to Newcastle, having dumped FC Metalist Kharkiv out of the Europa League. Yohan Cabaye was substituted off in the 86th minute and replaced by Gael Bigirimana after going to ground clutching his knee, whilst Tim Krul collided with Cristaldo in the 87th minute and went down holding his ankle (and the ball), a challange which saw the Metalist player get booked.

Krul is now hobbling around on crutches which is hopefully a precautionary measure but is concerning with such a big game at the weekend.

Newcastle now return to the UK to prepare for their next Premier League game against Southampton on Sunday lunchtime. Both sides go into the game on 27 points.
