Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has refused to discuss his current transfer targets, after he confirmed that the club are “beavering away” to seal deals. With Newcastle’s injury nightmare and limited squad, the club have been linked with almost every available player, but Pardew who said in November that he would keep quiet on transfers, has stuck to his word.
He said;
"There is no doubt that in the background we are beavering away trying to get some players in.
We have got Debuchy in, which I think is going to be very important to us, and we are working very hard.
I know there are loads of names being thrown about, but it's a waste of time asking me because I'm not going to answer. But we are certainly working hard.
Centre-back is still a position we want to strengthen.
It could go down to the last three or four days. A lot of deals get done then."
