Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has paved the way for Arsenal to put a bid in for him after telling Canal+ that Arsenal are a club who make dreams. The Senegal International, who has a £7million release clause in his contract appears to be suggesting that if Arsenal want him, they should come and get him. Newcastle fans are fed up with the constant speculation that Ba will be leaving the club each time the transfer window opens and comments like this are not helpful.
However, the 7million release clause may seem small but the add ons which he requests for management and agent fees could push the final figure up, leaving sides wondering whether they really would be getting a bargain.
He told Canal+;
"I have nothing to say about those speculations. Nothing has happened.
The media know Arsenal need another striker and they know about my release clause. They need to make their own mind up about it.
Arsenal are one of those teams who makes you dream."
Ba has scored 11 goals so far this season for Newcastle United.
I'm not sure I have read and re-read the original french and while I am happy to concede my French is not perfect, even my limited knowledge can make it read differently.
I am not convinced he's saying he dreams of going to Arsenal at all, could be wrong though.
