Newcastle United host Norwich City tomorrow afternoon on the back of a 0-0 draw in Europe and a 2-2 draw against Everton last weekend. Newcastle have won one, drawn two and lost one of their opening four Premier League games of the season, whilst Norwich have drawn two and lost two. 

Alan Pardew still has a high number of injuries to contest with but could welcome back Cheik Tiote (calf) and Papiss Cisse (illness) who both face late fitness tests.

Haris Vuckic returned in midweek, as did Sammy Ameobi, but Tim Krul (elbow) Fabricio Coloccini (hamstring) and Danny Simpson (hamstring) are all out, whilst Ryan Taylor continues to be sidelined due to an ACL Knee injury.

Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba, Hatem Ben Arfa and Jonas Gutierrez will all be back after being rested in midweek, when they gave the younger players an opportunity to show what they could do.

Chris Hughton will make his first return to St James’ Park since he managed the club, bringing Norwich to the North East. He is without Stephen Whittaker (ankle), whilst Elliott Bennett is back in training but won’t make the game. Anthony Pilkington (groin) may return.

Newcastle’s Demba Ba, who has scored 3 of the sides 5 goals this season will be expecting to slot straight back into the starting eleven after his agents outburst after the Everton game, but there is a good change that he could start on the bench once again, with Cisse being the preferred striker from the off.

Fact: Norwich City haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 35 Premier League games.

Fact: Demba Ba has scored more goals this season than the entire Norwich team.

Fact: Norwich are the only side so far not to pick up a yellow card this season.

Right-o got last weeks spot on with the forst post of the thread ... so here goes again 3-0 toon, sorry Chris but the toon are going to up the aunty tomorrow and it aint going to be a happy return.

I just feel the toon are just simmering a little at the minute and are ready for a small spark to kick them into full throttle and I believe tomorrows game will be that.

I also think Cisse is going to score tomorrow and get off the mark for the season.

I do think the toon are ready to come out and smash somebody, but not to sure if this is the game. Cisse needs a goal, but I do think the toon need to tinker with the formation, as we don't seem to get the best out of the front 3.

I am going for a 2-1 Toon win

np Annie, Im watching the 3rd link down the list seems to be poor quality picture but very consistant.

Good clearance there by Saylor, and what a ball by HBA for Ba good goal, hopefully we can get a 2nd before half time.

Santon is looking more and more like a good attacking FB, Jose who .... ?

Was awful. Pardew missed it as he had already gone down the tunnel but I can't imagine he will be happy.

Didn't look like the plan was for Cisse to take it initially

Ba was certainly a better option CND, but I think Hatem Ben Arfa is our designated penalty taker.

Well it certainly wasn't pretty but a win is a win.

We arn't playing well atm that is clear to see, but on a plus side at least we are picking up points, I don't know whether it is just the team setteling back in after the break or what but there is little fluidity to our game atm, with only certain players looking up for it and showing true commitment.

I think before long we are either going to hammer someone or get hammered whichever it is, I think that will kick start our season.

Perch, Santon, Ba and HBA all seem to be playing decent atm.

Williamson, Saylor, Jonas are doing ok. Anita just looks like he hasn't settled yet though looks more comfortable at RB and looked a little more sttled today, Cabaye has steadily been improving the last couple of games.

Tiote seemed angry today and is going to have to learn to control things at times.

Cisse really needs a goal, I would play him every opportunity atm ie Euro, Cups etc anything he needs to play and get a goal and quick. That pen today could of really cost us or it could have kick started his season. Otherwise Ameobi will be bearing down his back for that place with Ba. I was pleased today to see Ba stay on the pitch ahead of Cisse as he is our danger man atm and needs to be playing.

Harper did really well today and Im in no way a fan but he looked decent. Krul needs to be back ASAP though to command everyone at the back.

Good to see Steven Taylor back in fine form. Two clean sheets in a row for him, against Maritimo and now Norwich.

And what a start to the seaon by Ba. I hope he doesn't go in January.

Ben Arfa remains a footballing genius of the highest order, who would have been praised to the sky if he'd played for a London club.
