Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has refused to be drawn into commenting on the possibility of the club finishing fourth, or higher after his double yesterday, alongside a goal from Papiss Cisse secured another 3 points against Stoke City.

He said after the game;

"We have got big confidence on the pitch. We just want to keep going.

The next thing is to be focused on the Wigan match. That's the most important thing."

After, we can see what happens, but we have to think match by match. We can do something special for the team."

With a game in hand over Arsenal, who sit three points ahead of them in 3rd place, Newcastle player Wigan, Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton in their final four games and the fans are starting to look towards the possibility of Champions League football next season.

Manager Alan Pardew, who has remained grounded about his sides achievement this season, said after the 3-0 win yesterday;

"It was a very important victory because it puts us on 62 points, a position we would never even have dreamt about, and with four games left too.

We are in a terrific situation, the stadium is full up, there are 52,000 absolutely loving it and we are playing some fantastic football.

The most important thing now is just to keep it going.

But there is a great camaraderie in the team, there's great spirit in the city and in the dressing room and from Mike Ashley down, everybody can be proud of the jobs they are doing."

Newcastle have defied all expectations this season after being promoted back into the Premier League last season and finishing in 12th place. But solid performances across the pitch, with several players confident of picking up the ball and taking a shot at goal has helped keep consecutive clean sheets and pick up six wins from their last six games.

I think it is a wise move, otherwise if the wheels come off, then everybody says we bottled it. Even though 4 games isn't a lot we still need quite a few points to take 4th. I think 8 more points would do it, especially as our goal difference isn't as good as the others
