Ranger Charged By FA For Alleged Homophobic Tweets

Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger has once again tarnished the club name, this time by being charged by the FA for alleged homophobic comments made on social networking site Twitter. Ranger, Manny Smith and Federico Macheda were all charged and have until 4pm on Wednesday 29th February 2012 to respond.

An FA Statement read; 

"Newcastle United's Nile Ranger, Walsall's Manny Smith and Manchester United's Federico Macheda, currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers, have all been charged with improper conduct in relation to comments made on Twitter.

The charge is that the players acted in a way which was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute. It is further alleged that the breach included a reference to a person's or persons' sexual orientation."

Nile Ranger has a lengthy history of offences and has been effectively exiled by the club due to his behaviour.

I don't understand it either. But to be honest whenever I see the name 'ranger' in headlines I try to just switch off.

I really hope we can put this mistake to bed sooner rather than later. Thing is, even if he actually became a good player, he would still be trouble. Worse even with even more edge.

I would love him to be sacked as we will have trouble moving him on due to the wages he is supposedly on.

Yet again a thread about the antics of Ranger. I don't understand why he is still in our squad.

For how much we would get in a transfer I would send out the message and sack the lad. He has caused loads of trouble to the club and this would send out a message to all players that the club comes first and might keep some of the academy lads in check knowing that the club doesn't mess around
