Donaldson Signs For Tranmere On Loan

Tranmere Rovers Manager Lee Parry has confirmed the signing of Ryan Donaldson on a 1 month loan from Newcastle United. The 20 year old who was loaned out for 2 months last season to Hartlepool, will now feature in Tranmeres game against Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend.
Lee Parry said of the deal;
"He's a talented young player, who I've watched a lot for Newcastle's reserves and last season for Hartlepool.
He's always impressed me, he's good on the ball and has an eye for goal. He'll be an excellent addition to our squad."

Got to think that if he is being loaned out to Tranmer at the age of 20, when we are short of forwards, his future may very well lie elsewhere.
Seems the case, dave. Sammy has passed him in the ranks, no? But then again he passed Airey too.
Airey has a good record within the ranks, be good to see how he gets on in scotland. Donaldson looks like he will move on eventually

He lasted 25 minutes yesterday before pulling his hamstring, which is unfortunate for both him and us.
He played in midfield just behind the striker, he actually looked pretty good there to be fair, would like to see him back when he is fit again - could be out for 4 weeks or so depending how bad it is I believe!

Cheers for the update on Airey, I am hoping that he does get some time or another loan can be sorted later down the line as a lot of good talk came out of the club about him

Did the club ever put him up on a free, if this loan deal don't work out then just get rid even if we don't bring in a fee, atleast then he will be off the books
i've always wondered why with our well publicised problems up front he's never been given another chance!
Reports of pre-season games always make hit he plays really well and then he either gets injured or suspended and never appears again!
He must be gash in training and have a shocking attitude for the likes of Ranger to be picked ahead of him!

Fully agree, if the club were stupid enough to offer the lad stupid wages when he is cr@p then it is our fault. I reckon the lad must be cr@p and has a bad attitude. I am hoping that it works out abroad for him so we can get a fee for him
Oh, I would have cashed those checks too. No doubt. I don't blame him. He should want out just to play more, though. If not, he's a money-grabbing tool.
He's in a perfect position personally, he gets the big paycheck from newcastle which he wouldn't get back in spain but gets to play regular football back in his home country where he wants to be!
He's milking it for all its worth until his contract runs out and then he'll no doubt get a golden handshake off the club and go home to spain!
