Club Statement Confirms Nolan & Carroll Deny NOTW Story

Newcastle United Skipper Kevin Nolan and Striker Andy Carroll have denied the allegations made by the News of The World that drugs were brought into Nolan's family home during a drug fuelled party, whilst his wife and children stayed in Liverpool.

The paper which carried the headline "Toon Stars' Cocaine & Sex Orgy" did state in the content that neither player is considered to have taken any substance but that drugs were at the property and being taken by those who attended the party.

However both players deny any knowledge of drugs and the club have released an official statement to that effect;

Published on the official website www.nufc.co.uk it read;

"The Club notes the story in The News of The World today and hass passed the matter to its legal advisers. Both Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll categorically deny having any knowledge that drugs had been brought onto the premises and are pleased that the paper does not even allege that they were aware of the presence of drugs.

Neither player would ever contemplate taking drugs or condone the use of such substances.  The Club and the players named are sure that if the editor felt his story had any truth he would already have reported this to the police.

The Club and the players named will be happy to cooperate fully with any police investigation."

Neither player appeared to be affected by the story as they triumphed against Arsenal at The Emirates, securing three points in a 1-0 win where Carroll scored to see his side go fifth in the Premier League by the time all weekend games had been played.

Haha, pull off a great win against Aresnal so the good old press has to try and bring the lads down! Classic stuff.

This must have been printed before the match CND but it is just pure pony. They can just @#$%& off.

I stopped buying the red tops years ago as they are full of sh17e, Jordan and Cheryl Cole.

We should especially take a leaf out of Liverpools book and stop buying the Sun/NOTW. Rupert Murdoch trash dumbing down the world (Including The Times).

the story had nothing of real substance - neither did any follow up stories today. BUT, Andy Carroll, regardless of age and maturity has to learn that he isn't just Andy from Newcastle anymore - as sad as it is, he is now a real celebrity and the media will be out to get him.

He needs to go several months without getting in the papers for these reasons....whether or not there is any truth to it or not.

Just focus on scoring mate. Maybe Alan Shearer needs to sit down with the lad.
