The Football League have published a list of Statistics following the closure of the Championship season. With Newcastle United finishing top of the table and making records, it was only fair for them to feature in those listed. Take a nose below to see where the club came out on top!

1 - The number of penalties conceded by Newcastle United, which was the best record in the division.

2 - The number of games won away from home by Peterborough United who were eventually relegated to League 1.

8 - The number of players to start all 46 league games for their respective clubs.

10 - The number of times Darren Ambrose hit the woodwork for Crystal Palace which was the highest in the division.

11 - The highest number of penalties conceded by any one team, which was Scunthorpe United.

17 - The number of games since Newcastle last tasted defeat.


20 - The number of goals scored by the division's leading goalscorers - Bristol City's Nicky Maynard and Cardiff City's Peter Whittingham.

24 - The highest number of clean sheets in the division, kept by Swansea City.

25 - The number of players who played for Nottingham Forest this season, which was the lowest in the Championship.

27 - The number of times Cardiff City hit the woodwork during the course of the season, the highest number of any team.

30 - The number of games won by Newcastle United on their way to winning the title.

42 - The most number of players used in a season by Derby County.

74 - The highest number of shots on target by an individual player which was Nicky Maynard.

90 - The number of yellow cards issued to West Bromwich Albion players which was the most for one team.

102 - The number of points Newcastle won as they secured promotion back to the Premier League.

103- The number of fouls committed by Jay Bothroyd for Cardiff.

214 - The number of shots on target by Plymouth Argyle which is the lowest in the Championship

371 - The highest number of shots by any team - Ipswich Town.

627 - The highest number of fouls in the Championship, committed by Sheffield Wednesday.

4,995 - The lowest attendance in the division as Scunthorpe hosted Peterborough United in March.

52,181 - The highest attendance in the Championship when Newcastle played Ipswich Town at St James Park back in April.
