Former captain Andrew Strauss has urged the England Cricket Team to be cautious over the return of Kevin Pietersen, in a thinly guarded remark over the 'text gate' row that led to the star batsmen being dropped last year...

Pietersen was reported to have 'texted' several South African players, during the summer clash in 2012, which ultimately led him to being dropped from all formats for England.

Strauss then resigned the captaincy at the end of that series, although it was not felt that the Pietersen saga had sole bearing on that decision.

Ever since though, people have been looking for signs or words from Strauss on the whole incident, and although mostly batting away suggestions on whose fault it exactly was, Strauss does urge caution on team morale, citing that Australia be the perfect example, given their recent 'homework woes' in India.

"Pietersen is a world-class player, one of those the Australians genuinely fear," Strauss told the Daily Mail. "But he must have recovered fully from his injury and everything has to be OK in the team environment."

His last words there, being the more cutting no doubt.

He went on "Given what's gone on, it's an important factor to think about because my experience over 15 years of cricket is that if things are not right in the dressing room, it affects how people play"

"We've seen over the winter at times how Australia haven't had things right in their dressing room, and I think it's very naive to turn a blind eye to that and say, 'it'll be fine."

I am sure at some point, there will be the full revelation on 'Text Gate', and we all await the exact details!
