Tomorrow is a massive day for all of us who follow Motherwell, and I am sure with a huge support behind them players will give us something to shout about.
This Cup Final can be described as a no lose situation for Motherwell, given almost everybody expects us to lose, therefore if we do there will be no surprise. On the other hand if we win, think how good that will feel!!
This is a classic case for us as underdogs to continue to punch above our weight, an expression used by John Boyle in his farewell address to the fans. We are truly a Don Quixote of a club who are always tilting at the windmills. This is our time to come good and give all of us one massive reward.
All the pressure is on Celtic, they have to win after not having won anything for two seasons now. Including nothing under Neil Lennon, and having “bottled” every big game since he became manager.
I hope our players use the experience from last week as motivation to prevent us seeing another green and white party at the end of the game.
I am sure if we are on our game we can match them, particularly with Kayal missing and the partnership of Rogne and Majstrorovic at the back. The key will be the form of Humphrey and Murphy on the flanks to occupy and threaten Wilson and Izaguerre.
I believe, let’s see that belief surge from the slopes of Hampden tomorrow and see it push our boys over the line for the third Cup win in our history!!
Who would have thought it would have come to this when we kicked the season off before everyone else with a home game with Breidablik on July 15. We have had ups and downs since then, can it end on one massive up??
