Clarke Sacked By Port Vale

Former Bristol Rovers Manager Darrell Clarkes has this morning been sacked by fellow League One side Port Vale.

Clarke has been with Port Vale Since February 2021 and saw Port Vale promoted to League One last season via the play offs beating Mansfield Town 3-0, Vale started the season in League One pretty well but a recent poor run of form which has seen Port Vale not win in the last seven games has cost Darrell Clarke his job.

Clarke became a fans favourite amongst Gasheads after taking over from John Ward back in 2015 and claimed promotion from the Conference and League Two in back-to-back seasons in 2015-16. The club would solidify its status in League One under Clarke before a poor run of results saw him leave the club in 2018, a decision that spilt the fan base.

Rovers and Clarke were going to meet each other once again as Rovers travel to Port Vale on Saturday, Clarke's assistant Andy Crosby has taken charge on an interim basis until the end of the season with Vale 6 points above the relegation zone.

One of Clarke memorable memories at Rovers
