The Reds are coming into game after picking up their first league away win since November at Leyton Orient. 

David McGoldrick showed his quality with an impressive hat-trick on Saturday and will look to add more to his 12 league goals. 

The 38-year-old has 10 goals in 2026, and no other player in EFL has more. 

The win leaves Barnsley in 13th place, eight points off the play-offs and eight points above the relegation zone. 

Anything is still possible for Barnsley this season, and a couple more points at home could have The Reds looking up the table. 

As for Wycombe, they sit 9th on 50 points after 34 games, and a win at Oakwell would move them up into 6th. 

They are managed by former Reds boss Michael Duff who joined on September 18, 2025, replacing Mike Dodds who had a poor start to the season. 

Head Coach Conor Hourihane said: “They are a really good side. Since Michael’s gone in there, they’ve done fantastically well in terms of points return. We know it’s going to be a difficult game, obviously. 

“I think at home, minimum, we always get a performance. 

“Some games have been tight, Northampton, Wimbledon. Some games we’ve come out on top, Blackpool, Stevenage, Peterborough. 

“We’re going to be in the game with a proper performance and trying to attack the game, as we do at home. And hopefully we come out on the right side of it.” 

Most of the points the Chairboys have picked up have been at home however, with them having just two wins on the road all season. 

They have former Barnsley players Cauley Woodrow and Josh Scowen in their ranks. 

The two sides drew 2-2 earlier in the season at Adams Park, with The Reds 2-0 up on 88 mins before conceding two late goals. 

Barnsley and Wycombe have faced off 15 times, with the Reds winning seven and losing three.
