The FAI and SFA now have only 17 hours to wait until UEFA announce if they have got the Euro 2008 Championships. 7 bids are being considered by UEFA in Geneva.
Ireland and Scotland have 17 hours until they know whether they have gained the UEFA Euro 2008 Championships. Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern gave the bid a final boost today by promising UEFA that Ireland would definitely have at least two stadiums, but did not state what combination of Landsdowne Road, Croke Park and Stadium Ireland these would be.
The Scottish FA President gave the final presentation to UEFA in Geneva today, and the result of the final vote will be given at 1 PM CET, which is 12PM in Dublin and Edinburgh.
There are 6 other bids in to receive the championship, and Scotland/Ireland and the Scandinavian bids are the only two that look to me like they have a chance of success.
Best of luck to the FAI and SFA. If we get it, its one less qualification tournament to worry about!
