Blackpool will travel to Sheffield Wednesday this Boxing Day, of course the team will be led out by Parkes and Thompson. Following Simon Grayson's departure from the seaside! However it's likley to be a similar team to that of Simon Grayson's choice.

Wade Small, Steve Watson and Francis Jeffers should return to play for Wednesday, however Jermaine Johnson (knee) and Etienne Esajas (broken toe) remain sidelined though whilst Nathan Modest is a doubt for the game. Jimmy Smith has recovered from the virus and could be uincluded but Akpo Sodje (knee), Richard Hinds (broken leg) and Peter Gilbert (Achilles) are all out.

Rob Edwards will miss out again following the injury he sustained at Nottingham Forest. Stephen McPhee is out and will under-go yet another operation to fix him. Lee Hendrie is unavailable of course with him been suspended but Alan Gow could start.

An interesting game which will be overseen by Thompson and Parkes who will be hoping to secure a long term deal. I expect to see a more passionate performance from 'pool now that Thompson is in charge. It should be a good game with both teams chasing three points.
